Eastern Oregon’s Strong Second Half Lifts Mounties Past Walla Walla

WALLA WALLA, Wash. — Eastern Oregon's men's basketball team secured an 89-74 victory over the Walla Walla University Wolves on Saturday night at Windemuth Court. Behind balanced scoring and strong team defense, EOU improved its shooting percentage to 50% from the field.

The game was tightly contested early, with Eastern Oregon leading 45-40 at halftime. The Wolves' Soren Dalan carried the offense in the opening half, scoring 15 of his game-high 23 points. Despite Dalan's efforts, Garrett Hawkes and TJ Doman combined for 35 points to help the Mountaineers execute in key moments and pace EOU.

Eastern Oregon extended their lead in the second half with a decisive 15-6 advantage in bench points. For the Mounties, James Bodily contributed seven points off the bench and key defensive stops. The Mountaineers dominated from the free-throw line, converting 21-of-24 attempts (87.5%), a critical factor in their victory.

Jaden Hansen tallied 14 points and six assists with his strong all-around play. The Mountaineers also benefited from a double-double by Doman, with 11 rebounds and 17 points.

Eastern Oregon will now travel up to Cheney, Washington, on December 30th to play an exhibition game against Eastern Washington to close out the 2024 season. They will then return home on January 3rd to host more CCC action.
