BOISE, Idaho - Eastern Oregon women's basketball played their final exhibition on the road with a challenging matchup against Boise State at ExtraMile Arena, falling 87-57.
Eastern Oregon's Kelsie Siegner led the scoring effort with 21 points on 9-of-16 shooting, adding 4 assists and 3 rebounds. Haylee Johnson also contributed 10 points while securing 4 rebounds. The Mountaineers were competitive early, ending the first quarter down by only one point at 18-17, but they struggled to keep pace as Boise State pulled away in the second half.
Boise State's offensive rhythm intensified in the third quarter, where they outscored Eastern Oregon 33-17. Boise State's Natalie Pasco led her team with 12 points, shooting 4-of-9 from beyond the arc, while Elodie Lalotte anchored the paint with 18 points and 8 rebounds.
The Mountaineers were hindered by Boise State's 21 points off turnovers and struggled from beyond the arc, shooting just 15% on three-point attempts. Boise State's depth was also on display, with the Broncos' bench contributing 45 points compared to Eastern Oregon's 13.
Eastern Oregon will look to bounce back as they head to Caldwell to compete in the Best Western Inn and Suites Classic starting. The Mounties first game will tip off a Friday 1:00 p.m. MT against Rocky Mountain.
