CALDWELL, Idaho — Eastern Oregon men's basketball controlled both ends of the court Saturday afternoon, defeating Carroll College 90-65 at the J.A. Albertson Activities Center. The victory keeps the Mountaineers undefeated at 4-0 and marks their second win over the Fighting Saints this season.
Garrett Hawkes and TJ Doman led the way for Eastern Oregon with 22 points each, with Hawkes shooting an efficient 10-for-16 from the field, including 2-for-4 from beyond the arc. Doman matched his teammate's scoring output with 11-for-16 shooting, adding six rebounds and one steal. The Mountaineers shot a scorching 56.1% from the field, compared to Carroll's 38.9%.
Eastern Oregon built an early lead with a 45-32 halftime advantage, shooting 52.9% from distance. They controlled the paint throughout the contest, outscoring Carroll 38-30 in the lane and outrebounding the Fighting Saints 40-21.
Isaiah Crane paced Carroll (3-6) with 19 points, connecting on 6-of-13 field goal attempts and adding seven rebounds. James Lang contributed 14 points for the Fighting Saints, but their struggles from deep—just 2-of-15 shooting from three-point range—proved costly.
The Mountaineers' bench also made a significant impact, outscoring Carroll's reserves 26-9. Eastern Oregon's depth and efficiency were apparent, with nine players finding their way into the scoring column.
The Mountaineers will look to continue their hot start as they prepare for their next matchup against Montana Western on November 27th, hosted at North Idaho College in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho.
