Volleyball Returns to CCC Championship After Sweeping College of Idaho

LA GRANDE, Ore. – Top-seeded Eastern Oregon Volleyball advanced to the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championship for the eighth consecutive season after a decisive 3-0 (25-18, 25-16, 25-21) victory over fifth-seeded College of Idaho on Friday afternoon at Quinn Coliseum. The Mountaineers (28-3) will have another opportunity at the conference title, having secured the last three CCC championships.

Eastern Oregon's offense was powered by Keira Vaughn, who led with 10 kills on an impressive .562 hitting percentage. Kiauna Mack added nine kills and a team-high five blocks, while Ashton Bales contributed seven kills and three blocks to bolster the Mountaineers' front line.

Setter Alexis McMurtrey orchestrated the attack efficiently, recording 21 assists and three service aces. Hailey Arritola anchored the defense with 18 digs, while the Mountaineers combined for nine service aces and 16 total blocks, stifling College of Idaho's offensive efforts.

The College of Idaho (20-13) struggled to find consistency against Eastern Oregon's formidable defense. Shelbey Nichol led the Yotes with nine kills, while Mia Hutchinson chipped in seven. Despite a resilient effort in the third set, the Yotes were unable to overcome EOU's relentless pressure.

With this win, Eastern Oregon will vie for its fourth straight CCC title, with tomorrow's championship match against Southern Oregon set for a 3:00 p.m. start at Quinn Coliseum.
