Medford, Ore. – The Eastern Oregon Mountaineers clinched a semifinal berth in the Cascade Conference Tournament with a dramatic 2-1 victory over the College of Idaho Yotes on Sunday. Eastern Oregon delivered a resilient performance, turning a late-game offensive push into a comeback win.
After a scoreless first half, College of Idaho struck first in the 60th minute when Jorge Fernandez netted a free kick, giving the Yotes a 1-0 advantage. Eastern Oregon responded with intensity, equalizing in the 82nd minute as Jahrie Gray scored, assisted by Cristian Trujillo and Pablo Cardenas-Sanchez. Just minutes later, Trujillo rewarded himself with a half volley for the game-winner unassisted in the 89th minute, sealing the Mountaineers' advancement.

Eastern Oregon will now face Warner Pacific University in the semi-finals on Tuesday, November 12th, at 7 p.m. on Wheeler Field. For the first time since 2019, both the EOU men's and women's soccer teams have advanced out of the quarter-finals of the CCC tournament. EOU is also one of two schools with both men's and women's teams still in the tournament.
