OLYMPIA, Wash. – The No. 4-ranked Eastern Oregon Mountaineers secured a 3-0 sweep over Evergreen State on Friday night at the Costantino Recreation Center. With the victory, the Mountaineers improved to 23-2 overall and 15-2 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play, while the Geoducks fell to 4-17 and 4-13 in the CCC.
Eastern Oregon displayed a balanced offensive performance, with eight different Mountaineers registering five or more kills. The team's depth and versatility were on full display as they hit .394 for the match, totaling 49 kills and 11 blocks across three sets.
The Mountaineers set the tone early, dominating the first set 25-7 with a .583 hitting percentage and continued their momentum with a 25-15 win in the second. In the third set, EOU closed out the sweep with a 25-20 victory, maintaining control despite a more competitive effort from Evergreen State.
McKenzie Jonas led the Mountaineers' attack with a team-high 9 kills, hitting an efficient .600. Madison Morgan, Ashton Bales, Emma Burlingame, Brooke Womack, and Mylie Mills each contributed six kills, while Kiauna Mack and Keira Vaughn added six kills apiece. Defensively, Hailey Arritola and Olivia Wegner anchored the backline with 25 digs, and setters Alexis McMurtrey and Hannah Ledgerwood combined for 49 assists.
For Evergreen State, Ashley Walker Campbell, Zofia Formella, and Lucendy Perez led with five kills each, but the team struggled to find consistency, hitting just .116 as a team.
