LA GRANDE, Ore. – Eastern Oregon University's men's soccer goalkeeper, Sebastian Guillen, has been recognized as the Cascade Collegiate Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Guillen, a junior from San Diego, Calif., delivered a standout performance during the CCC Game of the Week against (RV) Carroll College. In a thrilling match that ended in a scoreless draw, Guillen made two critical, game-saving stops in the final minutes, preserving the result for the Mountaineers and showcasing his impressive goalkeeping skills.
The Mountaineers currently hold a 5-2-3 overall record and stand at 4-1-3 in conference play. Eastern Oregon will return to Quinn Coliseum on Saturday, October 19th, to face off against the College of Idaho Yotes at 4:30 p.m. Both teams are closely matched, with plenty at stake as the Yotes and Mountaineers currently hold 3rd and 4th place, respectively, in the conference standings.
