Brennan Drives Comeback Victory Over No. 20 Oregon Tech

LA GRANDE, Ore. - Despite trailing by 15 points at one point in the second quarter, Eastern Oregon women's basketball orchestrated a stunning comeback victory over the No. 20-ranked Oregon Tech, prevailing 72-63.

The Mounties were outscored 29-19 after the first quarter, with Gabbie Gascon notching 19 first-half points for the Hustlin' Owls. However, Coach Weissenfluh rallied the troops at halftime, outscoring Oregon Tech 42-24 in the second half.

Eastern Oregon's effective three-point shooting in the second half, with a 53.3% success rate, and improved free-throw shooting, reaching 85.7% in the second half, played pivotal roles in the comeback victory. The Mounties also got a big lift from the bench, outscoring the Owls 14-4 in that category.

Bayley Brennan's impressive performance, sinking six three-pointers and contributing 25 points, was instrumental in Eastern Oregon's come-from-behind win. Brie Holecek also played a crucial role, recording 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists. Haley Robinett contributed six assists and 7 rebounds on the evening.

Gascon accumulated 25 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists for Oregon Tech, shooting an impressive 9-12 from the field. Alexis Elquist also added 13 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal in 27 minutes of play.

With this win, Eastern Oregon's record now stands at 13-5 overall and 9-5 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. The Mounties are set to travel to Walla Walla University next Friday for their matchup with the Wolves, set to tip off at noon.
