LA GRANDE, Ore. - In a compelling showdown on their home court, the Eastern Oregon women's basketball team notched their fifth consecutive victory against Northwest with a final score of 72-62.

The game unfolded with Eastern Oregon taking control early, leading in each quarter. Northwest fought back late, particularly in the fourth quarter, where they outscored the Mounties 25-16. However, Eastern Oregon maintained their composure, closing the game with a 10-point lead.

Eastern Oregon asserted their dominance by capitalizing on Northwest's 17 turnovers, leading both points off turnovers with 22 and fast-break points with 13.

Eastern Oregon's offense was led by standout players such as Brie Holecek, who contributed significantly with 27 points, including four three-pointers. Beverly Slater's well-rounded contribution included 8 points, 7 rebounds, 4 steals, 3 assists, and 3 blocks, while Haley Robinett also added 12 points and 7 rebounds. 

Kylie Lunday stood out for Northwest with an impressive 20 points and an impressive 16 rebounds.

In the end, Eastern Oregon celebrated a well-deserved victory, improving their season record to 12-4 (8-4 CCC), while Northwest falls to 3-14 (3-8 CCC) on the season. The Mounties return to Quinn Coliseum next Friday for their matchup with Southern Oregon set to tip off at 5:30 p.m.
