No. 24 Mounties Take Care of Business on the Road

SALEM, Ore. - Eastern Oregon was back in action Saturday afternoon as they took on the Warriors of Corban University in a double header. Eastern showed to be too much for the Warriors as they cruised to a 5-0 game one win and a 1-0 win in game two.

GAME 1

Eastern was led in the circle in game one by EOU's single season strikeout leader, Kaylie Hoskins. Hoskins had another terrific day, allowing just two hits in seven innings of work while adding 10 strikeouts and allowing no Warrior runs. This is Hoskins 12th complete game shutout of the 2023 season, tabbing her into the EOU record book for the most shutouts in a single season. Hoskins had plenty of help behind her today, as the Mounties jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. Addison Ribordy batted the first run in after a ground ball to the Warrior shortstop was enough to bring Haley Tyree home giving the Mounties a 1-0 lead. EOU tacked on another run in the top of the fourth after a Haley Ebner Double to left center scored Kelly Monaghan. Eastern broke the game open in the top of the sixth, as they scored three total in the inning highlighted by a Haley Tyree double to right center that scored Caitlin Crist. Hoskins and the Mounties closed out the Warriors the rest of the way to take game one by a score of 5-0.
