ASHLAND, Ore.- Heading into day two of the CCC Multi-Event Championships presented by U.S. Bank the Mounties had two athletes in position for All-Conference awards. When the dust settled, EOU's
Elizabeth Grandle was the lone Mountie to finish in the top three and earn All-Conference honors.

Eastern Oregon earned 11 team points toward their score on the women's side at the CCC Championships when they finish on May 12-13 in La Grande. The men added eight.

WOMEN
Grandle was able to maintain her spot in third place with a score of 4,445 points for an NAIA "B" Standard mark in the event and a PR. After a solid first day, Grandle was able to keep her momentum and finish strong in the final three events on day two. The freshman's best performance came in the javelin where she finished first with a throw of 39.48 meters which is good for a "B" Standard in the event. She also led all Mounties with a fourth-place finish in the long jump before wrapping up with a ninth-place finish in the 800-meter run.

Samantha Conley wasn't far behind Grandle finishing fourth overall with a score of 4,296 points. Her best performance also came in the javelin where she finished third with a throw of 36.86 meters. The sophomore also recorded a sixth-place finish in the long jump and seventh-place finish in the 800-meter run.

Coming in ninth for EOU was
Karli Bedard. Bedard's highlight of the day came in the 800-meter run where she placed third leading all EOU competitors with a time of 2:29.86

MEN
On the men's side Eastern's best bet for an All-Conference nod was
Israel Miles going into day two. The redshirt junior finished day one in third, but fell a spot to fourth in day two finishing with a score of 6,027 points which is still above a "B" Standard. Miles started the day off with his best performance winning the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.99 seconds. From there, Miles finished the day with two fourth-place finishes and two seventh place finishes.

Judson Mansfield finished in sixth for the Mountaineers with a score of 5,812 points, which was also above the NAIA "B" Standard. The junior posted a couple of strong showings in the discus and pole vault where he took second and third respectively. His throw of 34.26 meters in the discus was within three-tenths of the top spot.
