Mounties Split Second Day Doubleheader With No. 10 Raiders

HERMISTON, Ore. – After taking two losses against No. 10 ranked Southern Oregon on Saturday, the Mounties bounced back taking the final conference game of the series  3-0. The Raiders didn't stay down long before bouncing back to take a 13-1 win over EOU in five innings. Eastern will return to action this upcoming weekend on the road taking on the University of British Columbia in a four game series starting on Friday.

GAME 1
EOU took game one thanks to some dominant pitching from Kaylie Hoskins who picked up her fifth win of the year. Hoskins once again was lights out going the distance allowing only two hits while striking out nine batters. The game was a showdown until the bottom of the sixth inning when Eastern finally broke the scoreless tie with all three of their runs. Hannah Tyree got the scoring started with a single through the left side to score Maddy Stateler. EOU picked up one more run on a passed ball before Gates Leatherwood capped it off with a double down the line to score Addison Ribordy. The only two Raiders to record hits on the day were Deja Acosta and Kailer Fulton who each had a single.

BY THE NUMBERS
