Box Score 3 LA GRANDE, Ore - Eastern Oregon was back in action Friday as they took on the Saints of Carroll College. Due to approaching weather, the teams decided to play all three conference games on Friday. Eastern took the first two games of the day by a score of 1-0 in game one and 2-0 in game two. The Saints took game three of the day by a score of 9-6.
GAME 1
It was a pitcher's duel in game one. Eastern Oregon was led in the circle by Kaylie Hoskins. Hoskins went the distance, throwing eight shutout innings while only giving up one hit, adding 16 strikeouts. The Saints were led by Kennedy Venner who went the distance giving up only one run on the day while adding nine strikeouts. The 0-0 tie was finally broken in the bottom of the eighth as a bases loaded walk brought Karly Hanosky home for the game winning run.Â

GAME 2
It was another pitcher's duel as Eastern Oregon was led in the circle once again by Kaylie Hoskins in game 2. Hoskins continued her dominant day, going the distance for the Mountaineers, pitching seven shutout innings while adding eight strikeouts. The Saints were led by Abby Hanley who went the distance, while adding three strikeouts. The score was knotted up at zero, until the bottom of the 6th when Karsyn Zaragoza hit a single into left center field allowing Hannah Tyree to score. Zaragoza then found her way home after a Haley Ebner double down the right field line, taking the score to 2-0. The Mountaineers closed out the Saints in the top half of the seventh, taking game two, 2-0.Â

GAME 3
The Saints got on the board first as they put up three runs in the top of the fourth after a Kaitlynn Ayers three run home run. The Saints were not done there as they added five more runs in the top of the sixth which was capped off by Alyssa Lybbert single up the middle, scoring Haylee Curry, taking the score to 8-0. The Mounties did not go away as they chipped away at the Saints lead scoring four in the bottom of the sixth which was capped off by a Caitlin Crist two RBI single to right field. Carroll tacked on one more run in the top of the seventh after a Anika Bjornson single to right field scored Kirsten Norris. EOU tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the seventh after a Hannah Tyree two run home run before they were ultimately closed out by the Saints, taking the final score to 9-6.

The final game (non-conference) that was set to be played tomorrow has been canceled due to weather. Eastern Oregon will be back in action Friday, April 8th as they travel to Klamath Falls, Ore. to take on the Hustlin' Owls of Oregon Tech.
