No. 14 Mounties Run Away with Senior Day Victory

Liefke Notches 1,000th Career Point

LA GRANDE, Ore. – No. 14-ranked Eastern Oregon took care of business to wrap up regular season play in Quinn Coliseum.  The Mounties handled the Warriors with ease taking a 98-65 win over Corban. Sailor Liefke led the Mounties with 18 points scoring her 1,000th career point as a Mountie. With the win EOU advances to 24-2 overall and 19-1 in CCC play pushing their current win streak to 14. The loss drops Corban to 12-14 overall and 9-11 in conference competition.

Eastern's offense came out of the gates a little slow, but the Mounties were still able to put up 17 points in the first quarter on 35% shooting. Corban stuck around with 13 on 30% shooting. Neither team found a rhythm from deep as they combined to go 2-9 from three.  Eastern added onto their lead in the second quarter outscoring the Warriors 21-15. They got out to their biggest lead to that point midway through thanks to an 8-2 run. At the half EOU led 38-28.

The third quarter determined the game as the Mounties opened with a 19-4 run fueled by nine points from Bayley Brennan. Brennan added one more three in the quarter as Eastern blew the game open with a 34-15 quarter that saw the Mounties go 7-9 from deep. After three the Mounties led 72-43. With the game in hand EOU added four more to their lead throughout the fourth quarter to take the 98-65 victory.
