Mounties Come Away from Great Falls with a Draw

GREAT FALLS, Mont. - In a closely-contested match, Eastern Oregon Men's soccer team faced off against Providence, ending in a 1-1 draw.

Eastern Oregon took an initial lead at the 10:45 mark of the 1st half, with Jodanni Osuna finding the net, assisted by Kyle Prusia. Providence wasted little time responding, leveling the score at 1-1 in the 19:10 mark. The score came in the form of a goal from Jose Vasquez, set up by Tomeu Nebot.

Eastern Oregon dominated the game in terms of shots, registering 16 in total with 7 on target, while Providence managed only three shots with two on target. Goalkeepers from both sides had a busy day, with Kole Anderson of Eastern Oregon making one save and Teddy Benbow of Providence recording six. Eastern Oregon took advantage of set pieces with six corner kicks, compared to Providence's one.

The intensity of the match was evident, with a total of 20 fouls evenly split between the teams. Providence saw four of their players booked with yellow cards in the second half: Faris Ceranic, Santi Jaramillo Ortiz, John Wilson, and Kevin Maldonado.

Despite the disparity in shots and offensive pressure, both teams walked away with an even score. The Mounties will head to Caldwell Friday evening, where they are set to face the Yotes of College of Idaho at 4:00 p.m.
