SALEM, Ore.- Eastern Oregon was back in action Friday night as they took on the Warriors of Corban University. The Warriors outlasted the Mounties, taking the victory 67-53. With the loss the Mountaineers drop to 11-5 on the season and 8-2 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play.
The first half of tonight's game was back and forth as both teams displayed strong defensive efforts. The Mounties trailed with three minutes left in the half 24-16 but an 8-0 run sparked by an Emmit Taylor steal tied the game up at 24 a piece. A late shot to conclude the first half gave the Warriors a 29-28 lead going into halftime.
As the second half proceeded Corban turned up its defensive pressure and was able to take over. Shooting 53.8% in the second half, Corban outscored the Mountaineers 38-25 leading to the 67-53 final.Â
Eastern Oregon will be back in action Saturday, Jan. 14 as they take on Bushnell University in Eugene, Ore. Tip off is set for 5:00 PM.
