LEWISTON, Idaho – Mountaineers Baseball dropped their final two games of their series against No. 4 LC State Monday afternoon as they fell 8-0 and 8-1. The day two secured the Warriors the 4-0 sweep of the series as Eastern Oregon fell to 5-12 on the year.
Game 1 – No. 4 LC State 8, Eastern Oregon 0
How it Happened
• Propelling the Warriors (19-1) to the game one win of day two was 15 hits and a clean defensive slate. Eastern managed six hits, but committed three errors in the loss.
• The Warriors grabbed their lead early on scoring three runs in the first and never looked back. An RBI sacrifice fly tacked on the first run before a bases load two RBI single scored the next two runs.
• LC State made it a 4-0 game in the second with a run scored. The Warriors got a one-out triple to right field. The runner was scored on the next at bat with an RBI groundout.
• The offensive rhythm for the Warriors continued in the third with two runs scored. They got back-to-back singles and both runners advanced on an EOU error.
• The third at bat of the frame produced another hit that scored both runners to make it 6-0. In the fourth, EOU held the Warriors scoreless to keep the score at 6-0.
• The Warriors final two runs came with one scored in the fifth and sixth, respectively. A bases loaded wild pitch by Eastern scored the lone run of the fifth to put LC State up 7-0.
• In the sixth, the Warriors got two runners on the corners with two outs. A successful steal attempt at second set up a steal attempt back at home that LC State won to go up 8-0.
• The Mountaineers did not get more than one hit in any inning until the ninth. EOU threatened in the final frame with runners on the corners, but LC State escaped the jam to go up 3-0.

Brooks Dyer went 1-4 in the day two opener, with his hit being a triple.

Elliott Marks hit 1-4 with his lone hit being a double.

Matt Garcia was 1-4 at the plate and also hit a double.

For the Warriors
• Nick Seammons hit 2-5 with two RBI and scored a run.
• Riley Way was 3-4 and scored a game best two runs.
• Luke White tallied three hits in five at bats and scored one run.
• A.J. Davis tallied two RBI and hit 1-4 in the win.
• Zach Threlfall also had two RBI while hitting 1-3.
• Drake Borschowa (2-0) secured the win and struck out nine batters in five innings.
Game 2 – No. 4 LC State 8, Eastern Oregon 1
How it Happened
• The Mountaineers managed to avoid the shutout in game two, despite being held to one less hit at five. The Warriors had 14, but committed one error while EOU played a clean game.
• Neither team scored through the first two innings, despite having chances. LC State got on the board in the bottom of the third after working a 1-2-3 frame.
• The Warriors got a leadoff hit by pitch and he advanced to second on a groundout. An RBI double down the left field line plated home the run to put LC State up 1-0.
• Eastern answered with a run scored in the fourth and worked a 1-2-3 frame as well to tie the game. The Warriors lone error of the contest came in the fourth, allowing EOU to score.

Garret Kollar led off with a single and got to second on a throwing error. A passed ball got him to third before a
Carsten Manderbach RBI single scored him to make it a 1-1 contest.
• The Warriors responded in the fifth scoring six runs. They went three up, three down on the Mounties to get on offense quickly and racked up six hits to go ahead 7-1.
• Three hits to start the frame loaded the bases for the Warriors before a one-out single to right center plated home two runs. Following a pitching change by EOU, LC State hit an RBI double to go up 4-1.
• A two RBI single in the next at bat plated home two more runs for the Warriors to put them ahead by five, 6-1. Two batters later, another double scored the final run to put LC State up six.
• Following a scoreless sixth inning, the Warriors tacked on their final run in the seventh. A one-out double got a runner on before back-to-back wild pitches scored him to bring the score to 8-1.

• Greg Blackman (3-0) earned the win. He fanned six batters in five innings pitched.

• The Mountaineers were originally set to host College of Idaho this upcoming weekend, Saturday-Sunday, March 5-6, but the series has been flipped to Caldwell. Game times for Saturday's doubleheader are set for 12 and 3 p.m. PT. Two day doubleheader action on Sunday will be at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. PT.
