WHITEFISH, Mont.- EOU's very own Ethan Cutler earned the Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Special Teams Player of the Week award. Cutler has played a huge role on special teams this season for the Mounties doing both the punting and kicking. The freshman's performance against No. 17 Rocky Mountain College on Saturday, Oct. 8, earned him the honor.

Cutler, in a 28-6 loss to No. 17 Rocky Mountain College, accounted for all of the Mounties' points. The Eagle, Idaho native made two field goals in the game, the first from 35 yards out and the second from 32.. Additionally, Cutler averaged 53.7 yards over three punts, giving the Mountie defense great starting field position. 

"I'm very proud of his progress as a Mountie and he has a bright future within our program," Coach Tim Camp said. "He takes Special Forces very seriously which is one reason why I have a great amount of belief in him as a specialist." 

The honor marks the first Frontier Conference Player of the Week award for a Mountaineer football player in 2022.

The Mounties will be back in action Saturday, Oct. 15 as they go on the road to Kennewick, Wash. to take on Pacific Northwest Christian College in a midseason scrimmage. Kick off is set for 3:00 p.m.
