Mountaineers Host I-84 Rival Yotes in Tuesday Showdown

LA GRANDE, Ore. – Mountaineer Women's Basketball is back in action once again for a Tuesday tilt against another longtime rival. Eastern Oregon will look to continue its winning ways as they put a six-game winning streak on the line against College of Idaho.

Tip-Off
• The Mountaineers (14-7, 11-2 CCC) continue their five-game homestand taking on travel partner College of Idaho in a midweek showdown.
• Eastern Oregon already has a win over C of I, having defeated the Yotes back on Nov. 23 in Caldwell by a final of 87-82 in overtime.
• Tuesday's game will also be Camo Night against the Yotes and EOU fans are encouraged to wear camouflage gear.
• Following the Tuesday tilt, the Mounties will finish out their five-game homestand this weekend against Bushnell and Corban.

EOU Athletics Spectator Policy - As of Jan. 19, 2022
• Spectators will be allowed at EOU sporting events, but masks will be required to be worn correctly (over mouth AND nose) at ALL indoor and outdoor events per state and local policy. This is subject to change at any time.
• Failure to comply with conference or institutional attendance policies will result in removal from venue and any further EOU contests.
• General Admission is allowed for both indoor and outdoor events and is on a first come, first serve basis. To see ticket prices for individual EOU sporting events and to purchase tickets, click here.
• Concessions and hospitality dining will no longer be available for both indoor and outdoor EOU athletic events. Outside food and drinks are not allowed inside Quinn Coliseum.
• Students, faculty, and staff wishing to attend indoor EOU Athletic Events can do so for FREE by showcasing their EOU ID card.

• The Mountaineers are undefeated at home this season with a perfect 6-0 record.
• Eastern has won each of its last four games played and including forfeit victories, they are on a six-game winning streak.
• Dating back to the 2014-15 season, EOU has won each of the last 16 match-ups against C of I.
• Head Coach Anji Weissenfluh is just one win away from 490 for her career.

Quick Hits
Last Time Out

• The Mountaineers went 2-0 inside Quinn Coliseum this past weekend in what was their first home games of the New Year.
• EOU took down in-state rivals Oregon Tech and Southern Oregon in a pair of close contests. Eastern won 79-75 in OT against OIT and followed that up with a 68-65 win against SOU.
• Against OIT, the Mounties used a late-game comeback in OT to secure the win. Sailor Liefke scored 20 points and accounted for the team's final nine in OT to give them the win.
• Against SOU, Liefke once again led the charge. She scored a home game career-high of 32 points and tallied the team's final eight points to lift EOU to victory.

CCC Player of the Week
• For her efforts, Sailor Liefke was once again named the CCC Player of the Week after a pair of dominant performances at home.
• Against OIT, she scored 20 points on 5-10 shooting and was 4-6 from deep. She also had six boards and four assists in the win. She scored the team's final nine points in OT as well to lead them to victory.
• Against SOU, Liefke poured in a game-high 32 points on 12-18 shooting and went 5-10 from beyond the arc. She grabbed seven rebounds in the win and scored the Mounties' final eight points.

Previously Against College of Idaho
• The Mountaineers secured their 16th-straight win over the Yotes earlier this season with an 87-82 OT win in Caldwell.
• All-time, EOU is 38-24 against C of I and is 36-11 against the Yotes under the direction of Anji Weissenfluh.
• At home, Eastern has won each of the last 13 match-ups against the Yotes.

Lighting it Up
• The Mountaineers have shot over 40% in each of their last eight games played, including 50.8% at Oregon Tech.
• In 18 games played this season, Eastern has shot 40% or better in 13 of those contests. They shot a season-high 68.1% at Simpson back on Oct. 23.
• The Mountaineers' hot shooting has helped them score 70 points or more in 10 games this year. They scored a season-high of 90 in a road win at Oregon Tech.

Cleaning Up the Boards
• Through 18 games played this season, the Mountaineers have grabbed 40-plus rebounds in 13.
• Eastern has out-rebounded its opponents in 14 games this season.
• EOU has grabbed 10-plus offensive boards in 12 games.

• All-time, EOU is 342-139 in conference games since the CCC was formed as an NAIA affiliated conference in 1993.

• The Mountaineers are second in the CCC in field goal percentage at 44.1%. They average 72.1 points per game, which ranks third highest in the league.
• Eastern is shooting 32.1% from three-point range which is third best in the conference. EOU is fourth in free throw percentage and rebounding at 72.6% and 42.6 boards per game, respectively.
Sailor Liefke is fourth in the league in scoring at 15.8 points per game. She also ranks seventh in assists at 3.2 per game.
Taylor Stricklin is eighth in rebounding in the CCC at 8.1 per game. She ranks 12th in scoring at 13.5 points per game. Stricklin is second in the league in minutes played at 36.2 per game.

Scouting the Competition
College of Idaho Yotes

• The Yotes enter the Tuesday contest with a 13-8 overall record and are 7-6 in CCC play. Their are currently fifth in the league standings.
• Offensively, C of I is averaging 65.1 points per game. They shoot 39.6% from the floor and 30.8% from deep. They do just shoot 67% from the free throw line.
• The Yotes average 12.4 assists per game as well. In terms of ball security, they give up 18.7 turnovers per game, but score 14.0 points per game off of opponent turnovers.
• Defensively, C of I holds opponents to just 59.5 points per game, which is fourth in the CCC. Opponents shoot 36.5% against the Yotes and 27.1% from deep.
• The Yotes grab 44.2 rebounds per game and have a margin of +9.8. They tally just 6.7 steals per game and averaged 3.2 blocks per game. 
• Sienna Riggle leads the team in scoring at 13.1 points per game. She shoots 53.5% overall and is also the leader in rebounding at 9.4 per game.
• Lexi Mitchell is also second in scoring and rebounding. She puts up 10.9 points per game on 39.7% shooting and shoots 33.3% from beyond the arc. She grabs 9.4 boards per game.
• Taryn Riley is the leader in ball distribution at 2.7 assists per game and has 49 on the year. Right behind her with 47 and an average of 2.7 assists per game is Mitchell.
• Mitchell also leads the way in steals with 23 and averages 1.3 per game. Jada Reeds has a better average of 1.5 and has 22 total in 15 games played.
• Riggle is also the team's leading shot blocker. She averages 1.5 per game and has 27 on the year in 18 games played. 

Up Next
• Following the early week match-up, EOU will have a quick two-day break before returning to the hardwood. The Mountaineers play host to Bushnell Friday, Jan. 28 at 5:30 p.m. The following day, Jan. 29, they host Corban at 3 p.m.
