LA GRANDE, Ore. – Mountaineer Women's Basketball is back on the hardwood for the first in two weeks after having their last two games canceled. It will also be the first weekend where Eastern Oregon will face two opponents since Dec. 17-18.

• The Mountaineers (10-7, 7-2 CCC) will play in their first set of weekend games since Dec. 17 and 18.
• Both of EOU's games last weekend were canceled due to COVID protocols by the opposing teams.
• Eastern last played back on Jan. 1 in a road contest at Bushnell. The Mountaineers have yet to play at home in the New Year.
• Following the weekend road trip, EOU will hopefully be back inside Quin Coliseum next weekend for a pair of CCC games.
Northwest/Evergreen State Spectator Policies
• Due to the Omicron variant, no outside fans, including family, will be admitted to the Northwest basketball games January 14-15. NU students and staff only.
• At the time of release, Evergreen State is not allowing fans for indoor sporting events due to the rise in COVID cases.

Last Time Out
• Eastern last played back on Dec. 1 in a road game at Bushnell University. The Mountaineers dropped a close contest, falling 75-65.

Previously Against Northwest/Evergreen State
• EOU and NU last met back in the 2019-20 season in regular season play. Eastern won both games by scores of 85-80 and 73-64, respectively.
• Since 2008-09, the Mountaineers have controlled the series against the Eagles with a staggering 22-1 record. Eastern has won each of the last 21 match-ups and is 11-1 on the road.
• Eastern and Evergreen State also last matched up in the 2019-20 season. EOU easily won both games scoring 80-plus points by finals of 88-63 and 81-65, respectively.
• Since the 2008-09 season, EOU is 21-0 against the Geoducks. In true road games, the Mountaineers have won 10 straight games against Evergreen State.

Scouting the Competition
Northwest Eagles
• The Eagles boast an 11-5 overall record and are 5-4 in conference play. They are 5-3 at home this season, but have dropped each of their last two contests on their own court.
• Offensively, NU is averaging 61.8 points per game and shoots 39.2% from the field. They are just a 26.9% three-point shooting team. They average 16.8 assists per game but give up 16.2 turnovers per game.
• Defensively, the Eagles give up just 57.3 points per game and hold opponents to a 38.3 field goal percentage to go along with a 26.1 three-point percentage.
• NU averages 40.8 rebounds per game and tallies 10.4 steals per contest as well. The team puts up 2.9 blocks per game.
• Livi Lindsey is the leading scorer at 12.1 points per game and shoots 43.9%. She is a 73.8% free throw shooter and grabs 4.4 boards per game.
• Lindsey is also the team leader in steals at 39. She averages 2.4 per game and is third in assists. She has 32 total assists and averages 2.0 per game.
• Sam VanLoo is the leading shot blocker at 30 total. She is second in scoring at 10.5 points per game with a 54.1 shooting percentage. VanLoo also leads the way in rebounds with 120 and averages 8.0 per game.
• Grace Meza is third in scoring at 10.3 points per game. She also has 36 steals on the year and averages 2.3 per game.
• Maya DuChesne is the floor general with a team best 44 assists. She averages 2.9 per game to go along with 1.4 steals per game.
Evergreen State Geoducks
• The Geoducks are just 4-8 on the year and are 2-6 against CCC opponents this season. They have played at home just three times this year and own a 2-1 record.
• Evergreen averages 57.6 points per game and shoots just 35.6% from the field. They struggle from deep at 26% and average 13.8 assists per game. They do give up the ball 17.6 times per game.
• Defensively, the Geoducks are giving up 63.5 points per game and let the opposition shoot 37.6% against them. They hold opponents to 27.5% from deep but average just 7.9 steals per game.
• Sha'nece Garret leads the offense with 12.9 points per game. She shoots 32% from the floor and is second in steals at 17. She also averages 4.2 rebounds per game.
• Trinity Betoney leads the way in steals at 23 and averages 2.9 per game. She also averages a team best 6.5 rebounds per game and is second in scoring at 12.0 points per game.
• Third in scoring is Monique Bungay at 10.0 points per game. She shoots 35.8% from three-point range and has made a team-high 19 three pointers.
• Jalyn Sackrider is second in rebounds at 6.2 per game and chips in 6.2 points per game. She is third in blocks with eight.
• Catlin Yenne leads the team in assists with 32 and averages 3.2 per game. She is also second in blocks at 10 per game.
• Leading the team in blocked shots is Rachel Watson with 12. She averages 1.5 per game.
