LA GRANDE, Ore. - Eastern Oregon University Women's Basketball and Head Coach
Anji Weissenfluh are excited to release the team's full 2021-22 schedule which will feature 32 contests.
Of the 32 games on deck for the Mountaineers, only one will be denoted as a scrimmage which is the Oct. 12 contest vs. Lower Columbia College at home. The unofficial start to the Mountaineers 2021-22 season will tip-off on Oct. 9 with the team's annual Alumni Game. Game time is set for 5 p.m. inside Quinn Coliseum.
Including the scrimmage vs. LCC, Eastern will play 13 games at home this season and 11 of them will be Cascade Collegiate Conference contests. Overall, the Mounties will play 10 non-conference contests this year with the majority of the opposition being from California and Montana, respectively.
EOU officially tips off the season Oct. 22-23 on the West Coast at the Simpson University Basketball Classic. EOU will face University of California, Merced on Oct. 22 before taking on host school Simpson on Oct. 23. The Mounties will have a quick turnaround from the Simpson Classic as they will remain in California to take on William Jessup University on Oct. 25.
The first official home game for the Mountaineers is set for Nov. 5 against NCAA Division III opponent Whitman College. Following the home opener, EOU will be back on the road for another tournament in the LC State Women's Basketball Tournament Nov. 12-13. Eastern will play a pair of Montana schools in Rocky Mountain College (Nov. 12) and Montana Tech (Nov. 13).
Toward the end of November, the Mountaineers will play a quartet of games, with all four being in Caldwell, Idaho. The first game will be a neutral site match-up against Montana Western on Nov. 20. EOU will then play in its CCC Opener on Nov. 23 at College of Idaho, but will not continue conference play until early December.
Thanksgiving weekend, Nov. 26-27, the Mountaineer women will play in the Best Western Caldwell Inn and Suites Classic hosted by C of I. Their first opponent will be Simpson on Nov. 26, followed by Rocky Mountain on Nov. 27. The Mountaineers two games at the C of I tournament will be their final non-conference contests of the regular season.
Eastern resumes CCC play with two road games in early December. The team will travel to Oregon Tech on Dec. 3 followed by Southern Oregon on Dec. 4. The Mountaineers final two home games in the 2021 calendar year will be Dec. 17 against Lewis-Clark State and Dec. 18 against Walla Walla.
The Mountaineers close out the calendar year on the road on the west side of the state. EOU will play at Corban on New Years Eve, Dec. 31 and begin the new Year on Jan. 1 at Bushnell. The team will be home in 2022 on Jan. 7 and 8 when they face Warner Pacific and Multnomah, respectively.Â
Following the quick two-game homestand, EOU will hit the road once more for a pair of contests. They start at Northwest on Jan. 14 before playing at Evergreen State on Jan. 15. In late January, the Mountaineers will have their longest stretch of home games with five-straight inside Quinn Coliseum.
The Mountaineers begin the homestand on Jan. 21 against in-state rival Southern Oregon followed by Oregon Tech on Jan. 22. The team will then have a quick turnaround with a match-up against College of Idaho on Jan. 25. The homestand closes out against Bushnell and Corban on Jan. 28 and 29, respectively.Â
The final six games of the regular season will take place in February, with four being on the road. The Mounties get started at Walla Walla on Feb. 4 followed by a road game at LC State on Feb. 5. The final home games for Eastern will take place on Feb. 11 and 12 against Evergreen State and Northwest, respectively. EOU will then travel to Multnomah on Feb. 18 before wrapping up the regular season at Warner Pacific on Feb. 19.
The 2021-22 CCC Tournament will take place February 22, 25, and 28. Top seeds will host through each round. To see the full schedule and all game times, please click the respective link above.
