KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The NAIA has announced its team and individual qualifier for the 2021 National Championships. Eastern Oregon University will send a full squad for the men, while
Michelle Herbes has qualified as an individual on the women's side.
The Mountaineer men qualified as a team with an at-large bid after finishing fifth at the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championships this past weekend. For Herbes, she qualifies as one of three individuals out of the CCC after finishing 14th at the CCC Championships.
For Eastern Oregon the men will head back to the NAIA National Championships as a team for the first time since the 2019 season. The at-large bid comes as no surprise for EOU as the Mountaineer men have been a to-25 nationally ranked team through the majority of the 2021 season.
Herbes is also no stranger to the national stage as this will be her fourth straight year of making it to the NAIA National Championships as either an individual or with a team. The senior has been a three-time All-CCC runner and will look to garner All-American status for cross country.
The 2021 NAIA National Championships will be held on Nov. 19 in Vancouver, Wash. Hosting this year's national meet on the men's sides will be Bushnell University, while the women's host is Multnomah University. Live video and live results access will be available for both races.
