Mountaineers Wrap Up Regular Season Play Against Eagles and Geoducks

LA GRANDE, Ore. - Eastern Oregon Men's Soccer closes out regular season play this weekend with two road contests. The Mountaineers head to Washington looking to stay in the hunt for a postseason berth.

Kickoff
• The Mountaineers (6-8-0, 6-5-0 CCC) will look to extend their two-game winning streak and stay in the top-eight of the conference standing this weekend.
• Eastern Oregon goes into the final weekend of the regular season currently sitting sixth in the CCC standings ahead of both Northwest and Evergreen State.
• The Mountaineers currently boast a 3-4-0 record in true road games this season.

Last Time Out

• EOU picked up a pair of wins at home to close out the home portion of their schedule. The team defeated Carroll College and Walla Walla 1-0 and 6-0, respectively.
• The mountaineers lone goal against the Saints came on a header goal by Ryan Brown.
• Against Walla Walla, five different players netted a goal, led by Kellen Burke with two.
• For the weekend, goalkeeper Dalton Mauzay picked up both wins in net and tallied nine total saves in 150 minutes played.

CCC Player of the Week
Dalton Mauzay was tabbed the CCC Defensive Player of the Week for his first career weekly honor. He was tabbed with the award after going 2-0 in net.
• Against Carroll College he made eight saves to help the Mountaineers secure a 1-0 win at home. His second win came in a 6-0 victory for the Mountaineers over Walla Walla on Senior Day. He played just over 60 minutes in the win and notched one save.

Previously Against Northwest/Evergreen State
• Last season, EOU and Northwest squared off once with the Mountaineers coming away the victors, 2-0.
• Last year's win was also the first career win for Jessy Watson as the EOU men's head coach. 
• All-time, EOU is 3-1-2 against the Eagles and has won each of the last two match-ups. 
• Eastern and Evergreen State last met in 2019. EOU walked away on top with a 3-2 win.
• All-time EOU is just 1-2-2 with the lone win coming in 2019. This match-up will be the first for Jessy Watson as the bench boss for EOU Men's Soccer.

Mountaineers vs. CCC
• All-time, EOU is 40-39-5 against CCC opponents since the program's inception in 2015.
• The Mountaineers have finished with a .500 record or better three times in the program young history
• Eastern has qualified for the CCC Tournament twice (2018, 2019) and had a runner-up finish in 2019.
• The Mountaineers are 9-10-0 in CCC action under the direction of Jessy Watson.

Scouting the Competition
Northwest University Eagles

• The Eagles are 8-6-2 overall entering the weekend with a 4-5-2 mark in CCC play. At home, they sport a 4-2-1 record.
• Offensively, NU has scored 33 goals this season and averages 2.06 per game on 13.8 shots. The team has tallied 24 assists and taken 145 corner kicks.
• Defensively, the Eagles have surrendered 29 goals and give up 1.81 per game on 15.1 shots. They have posted three assists and have 77 saves on the season.
• Elliott Misic leads the offense with a staggering 14 goals scored to go along with a team best six assists for 34 points. He has taken 50 shots on the year and has had 31 come on goal.
• Second in scoring is Braydon Corwin with four goals. He also sits second in assists with five. 
• Alexander Thiehofe has started all 16 games in net this season. He has tallied 74 savers and has a save percentage of .724.

Evergreen State College Geoducks
• The geoducks enter the weekend with a 5-7-2 overall record and are 5-4-2 in CCC play. At home, Evergreen State is just 1-3-1.
• Offensively, Evergreen has scored 27 goals and averages 1.93 per game on 12.4 shots. They have 24 assists on the year and have taken 36 corner kicks.
• Defensively, the geoducks have allowed 23 goals and give up 1.64 per game on 19.9 shots. They have posted four shutouts this year and have tallied 87 saves.
• Joe DiCarlo leads the offense in goals scored with six and has three assists for a total of 15 points. He has taken 26 shots and had 12 come on goal.
• Maxton Hauser is second in scoring with five goals and is tied for the team lead in assists with four.
• Also tied for the team lead in assists is Brandon Clough and Lucas Alcala with four, respectively. Clough has scored three goals, while Alcala is at two.
• In net, Colin Hauser has appeared in 14 games and started in 12. He has 82 saves this season and an .828 save percentage.

Up Next
• The Mountaineers will await their postseason fate following this weekend's games to see if they will qualify for the CCC Tournament which will begin on Nov. 9 in Springfield, Ore.
