Mountaineers Host Saints and Wolves for Senior Weekend

LA GRANDE, Ore. - Mountaineer Men's Soccer wraps up the home portion of its schedule this week with two conference games. It is also Senior Weekend for Eastern Oregon who will honor one senior ahead of Sunday's game.

Kickoff
• The Mountaineers (4-8-0, 4-5-0 CCC) will look to snap a two-skid this weekend and stay in the hunt for a postseason berth to the conference tournament.
• Going into the weekend, EOU is currently sitting ninth in the CCC standings. 
• Prior to Sunday's kickoff the Mountaineers will honor one senior in Santiago Peniche.
• Following the two home games, Eastern will wrap up regular season play next weekend with two road contests.

Pink Out Night
• Friday's game against Multnomah will be Pink Out Night. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 
• EOU Athletics has partnered with Grande Ronde Hospital to put on the Pink Out game.

EOU Athletics Spectator Policy
• Spectators will be allowed at EOU sporting events, but masks will be required to be worn correctly (over mouth AND nose) at ALL indoor and outdoor events per state and local policy. This is subject to change at any time.
• Failure to comply with conference or institutional attendance policies will result in removal from venue and any further EOU contests.
• General Admission is allowed for both indoor and outdoor events and is on a first come, first serve basis. To see ticket prices for individual EOU sporting events and to purchase tickets, click here.
• Concessions will be available for outdoor EOU athletic events, but not indoor EOU athletic events.
• Students, faculty, and staff wishing to attend indoor EOU Athletic Events can do so for FREE by showcasing their EOU ID card.

How to Watch/Follow
• All home games this year will be webcast on the Mountie Sports Network at www.EOUSports.com/watch. All EOU home games will be Pay-Per-View and can be purchased for $7.95 per game. Fans can also purchase an Eastern Oregon All-Access pass to watch all 2021-22 EOU home sporting events for $100.
• Livestreams for all home games will begin 15 minutes prior to kickoff.

• The Mountaineers are currently one spot out of the top-eight for the conference standings going into the final two weeks of play.
• EOU is undefeated all-time against the Wolves with a 5-0-0 record in the program's young history.
• Sunday's game against Walla Walla will be the first for Jessy Watson as EOU's head coach.
• The Mountaineers have just one departing senior this season in Santiago Peniche.

Last Time Out

• The Mountaineers dropped a pair of games last weekend against two of the top teams in the CCC in Oregon Tech and Southern Oregon.
• Against OIT, Eastern dropped a 2-0 contest, while the Raiders escaped La Grande with a 1-0 win.

Previously Against Carroll College/Walla Walla
• Last season, the Mountaineers went 0-2-0 against the Saints in two road games. Carroll won by scores of 4-1 and 1-0 to take down the Mountaineers.
• All-time, EOU has a 4-3-0 record against Carroll College. At home, EOU is 2-1-0 against the Saints.
• The Wolves last played Eastern in 2019 as they opted out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19. The last meeting between the two squads saw the mountaineers secure a 6-0 win over Walla Walla.
• All-time, EOU has never lost to Walla Walla with a 5-0-0 record. At home, EOU is 2-0 and has outscored the Wolves a combined 26-1 in two match-ups.

Mountaineers vs. CCC
• All-time, EOU is 38-39-5 against CCC opponents since the program's inception in 2015.
• The Mountaineers have finished with a .500 record or better three times in the program young history
• Eastern has qualified for the CCC Tournament twice (2018, 2019) and had a runner-up finish in 2019.
• The Mountaineers are 7-10-0 in CCC action under the direction of Jessy Watson.

Scouting the Competition
Carroll College Saints

• The Saints come to La Grande with a 4-5-2 overall record, are 4-3-2 in CCC play, and have won each of their last two matches.
• Offensively, the Saints have notched 23 goals this season and average 2.09 per game on 17.2 shots. They have tallied 14 assists so far this year as well.
• On defense, Carroll has surrendered 16 goals and allows 1.45 per game. Opponents average 14.8 shots against them. Carroll has tallied 52 saves and posted just two shutouts this year.
• Rory Bloy leads the offense with eight goals and has tallied two assists for 18 points. He has taken 23 shots and 17 have come on goal. He has one gamewinning goal as well.
• Second in scoring is Nick Lowrimore with six. He has two assists as well for 14 points. He leads the team in shots taken with 35 and has had 24 come on goal.
• Santiago Morazzani rounds out the top-three in scoring with four goals to go along with one assist for nine points. He has 22 shots to his name and 14 have come on goal.
• Ben Dagg is tied for the team lead in assists with two. He holds the top spot along with Lowrimore and Bloy. 
• In net, Kaden Connor has started all 11 games for the Saints. He's tallied 51 saves and has a save percentage of .761.

Walla Walla Wolves
• The Wolves enter the weekend still in search of their first win with a 0-9-1 record overall and are 0-9-0 in CCC play. 
• Walla Walla has managed just seven goals this season. They average 0.70 goals per game on 8.0 shots. They have just three assists this season.
• Defensively, the Wolves have given up 48 goals this season and allow 4.80 goals per game. They have 86 saves on the year.
• Pedro Reyes leads the offense with two goals and has one assist for five points.
• Rolando Gallart Franco is the team leader in shots with 15. Second in shots taken is Colebren Schoenleber with 11.
• Five athletes are tied for second in goals scored with one in Ben Hewett, Damien Dennis, Davis Nordby, Christopher Salazar, and William Frohne.
• Diego Molina has appeared in eight games at goalkeeper and been a starter six of them. He has 60 saves and a save percentage of .667.

Up Next
• The Mountaineers wrap up regular season play next weekend with a pair of road contests. Eastern will take on Northwest on Friday, Oct. 29, followed by Evergreen State on Saturday, Oct. 30. Kickoff for both games is set for 12:30 p.m. PT.
