Eastern Oregon Begins Three-Game Road Trip at College of Idaho

LA GRANDE, Ore. - Mountaineer Men's Soccer is on the road this weekend for just one match in what will be a showdown against a rival opponent in the Coyotes.

Kickoff 
• The Mountaineers (2-5-0, 2-2-0 CCC) will look to get back over .500 in conference play after going 1-1-0 last weekend at home.
• This Sunday's contest will be the first of a three-game road trip for Eastern Oregon who will not return home until mid-October. 
• For Eastern Oregon, this will be the team's fifth game away from home in 2021.

• Live video for Sunday's game will be available on the Yotes Digital Network. The game will be Pay-Per-View and costs $9 through College of Idaho. Live stats can be accessed at www.EOUSports.com/watch. 
• All home games this year will be webcast on the Mountie Sports Network at www.EOUSports.com/watch. All EOU home games will be Pay-Per-View and can be purchased for $7.95 per game. Fans can also purchase an Eastern Oregon All-Access pass to watch all 2021-22 EOU home sporting events for $100.
• Calling the action for this year's home games will be Trevor Curl on play-by-play. Livestreams for all home games will begin 15 minutes prior to kickoff.

Story Lines
• EOU has split each of its last two weekends of CCC matches going 1-1-0 in back-to-back weeks.
• Sunday's tilt at College of Idaho will be the first for Jessy Watson as EOU's head coach.
• College of Idaho has yet to lose a game at home this season with a perfect 2-0-0 record.
• This will be the first match-up between C of I and EOU since 2019, where Eastern won 3-2 in overtime in Caldwell.

Quick Hits
Last Time Out

• In their first set of conference home games, the Mountaineers split the weekend with a 2-0 win over Bushnell before dropping a 2-1 contest to then No. 23 Corban.
• Against the Beacons, Eastern had two different players score in the win in Dawson Heuett and Carlos Murillo. Heuett's goal in the 32nd minute was ultimately the gamewinner in the shutout.
• Against the Warriors, EOU battled all 90 minutes but fell short of an upset bid in a 2-1 loss. Greg Rodriguez had the lone goal for EOU in the match.
• In net, Noah Galow had six saves on the weekend with three in each match.

Previously Against College of Idaho
• EOU and C of I last squared off in 2019 as the Yotes opted out of the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In the 2019 contest, EOU escaped Caldwell with a 3-2 OT win.
• All time, the Mountaineers are 2-2-1 against the Yotes. EOU has never lost to C of I at home with a 1-0-1 record but is just 1-2-0 in road contests.

Mountaineers vs. CCC
• All-time, EOU is 36-36-5 against CCC opponents since the program's inception in 2015.
• The Mountaineers have finished with a .500 record or better three times in the program young history
• Eastern has qualified for the CCC Tournament twice (2018, 2019) and had a runner-up finish in 2019.
• The Mountaineers are 5-7-0 in CCC action under the direction of Jessy Watson.

Individual Milestones
• Noah Galow is just four saves away from reaching 20 for his career.
• Head Coach Jessy Watson needs just four more wins to reach 10 while leading the EOU men's team.
• Kellen Burke is just two games away from appearing in 20 in his career with the Mounties.

Scouting the Competition
College of Idaho Coyotes

• The Yotes go into Sunday with a 5-1-0 overall record and are 3-1-0 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play.
• The lone loss for C of I has come against Warner Pacific who defeated the Yotes, 2-0, back on Sept. 18.
• Offensively, the Yotes have scored 20 goals this season and average 3.33 per game against opponents. They take an average of 22.7 shots per game and have dished out 12 assists.
• Defensively, C of I has surrendered just five goals this season and has not allowed more than two goals in a match. They hold teams to just 8.7 shots per game. 
• Caio Pereira is the team's top offensive threat with five goals and one assist for 11 points on the year. He has taken 20 total shots and had 13 come on goal.
• Second on the team in scoring is Ben Garrick with four goals for eight points. He has 18 shots under his belt with half of them coming on goal.
• Four yotes have multiple assists this season led by Lucas Thorne with three. He also has scored one for a total of five points.
• Tied for second in assists is J.J. Osuna,Kristian Quiros, and Emil Powles with two, respectively. Both Osuna and Quiros have two goals this year as well.
• Three players have split time in net for C of I this year. Zac Dean has played in four contests and been tabbed a starter in all four. He has eight saves and is 4-0-0 on the year.
• Drew Morris has also appeared in four contests and gotten the starting nod in two. He is 1-1-0 on the year and has a team best 11 saves. Joey Umpleby has appeared in one game on net but has yet to register a save.

Up Next
• The Mountaineers will continue their road swing by traveling north to Montana for a pair of contests. EOU starts at Rocky Mountain College on Friday, Oct 8, followed by University of Providence on Saturday, Oct. 9. Kickoff for both contests is scheduled for 12 p.m. PT/1 p.m. MT.
