EOU Snags 4th Win In A Row, 61-51 Against OIT

LA GRANDE, Ore.- The Eastern Oregon women's basketball team downed another tough opponent in the Oregon Tech Owls (12-8, 6-4 CCC), winning by double-digit points 61-51. The Mountaineers improved their record with this home victory to 13-7, and 7-3 in Cascade Conference play.

The Mountaineers were in control for most of Friday night's game, limiting the Owls to just one made three pointer and 36.5 percent shooting overall. EOU had three double-digit scorers as they won the first three quarters before cruising to a double-digit victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
EOU started off with a 14-point run with Emma Logan, Jane Nelson, Kylie Smith, and Megan Still all adding to those first 14 after OIT clinched the first two points of the game. Keeping the pressure on throughout the first two quarters, EOU kept a sizeable lead going into the half with an 11-point advantage after Whitney Meier forced a turnover from the Owls. With the momentum on Eastern's side to start the second half, Megan Still increased their lead to 13 when she connected on a field goal after an assist by Jane Nelson for the first two points of the third quarter. Eastern, never letting the Owls back in, finished the third quarter up 14 and eventually snagged the win 61-51.
