Volleyball Handles Walla Walla in Straight Sets

COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. – The No. 10 Eastern Oregon volleyball team made quick work of its opponent on Tuesday night, sweeping Walla Walla (25-17, 25-12, 25- ) in Cascade Collegiate Conference play.
 
The Mountaineer (12-1, 2-1 CCC) hitters were electric in the first two sets, combining for 29 kills and just three errors for over a .500 hitting percentage. Overall, EOU hit .372 for the match, with 42 kills to 10 errors.
 
Sophomore Jet Taylor led the attack with 12 kills and an impressive .611 hitting percentage. Sophomore Cambree Scott had nine kills and hit .500 while senior Megan Bunn added seven kills.
 
Junior setter Madison Pilon reached 25 assists, followed by freshman Brooke Dodge with nine. Junior Kiley McMurtrey led the defense with 19 digs.
 
The Mountaineers continue their impressive year on Thursday with their home opener. EOU welcomes rival College of Idaho for a top-25 matchup at 7 p.m. in Quinn Coliseum.
