Volleyball Earns AVCA Team Academic Award, Finish Top-13 in NAIA

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Eastern Oregon volleyball team earned another American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award, but finished in the top-13 of the NAIA to be named to the Team Academic Honor Roll for the first time in program history.
 
A record of 1,125 teams were selected for the Team Academic Award this year across all division levels of collegiate and high school volleyball. 51 teams from the NAIA were honored with EOU in the top-13 in GPA to receive the Team Academic Honor Roll.
 
The award, which was initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale.
 
The EOU volleyball team led all Mountaineer programs with a combined 3.663 GPA for the year.
