Game Notes: Mountaineers Host Homecoming at 6 PM vs. MSUN

LA GRANDE, Ore. – The Eastern Oregon football team opens the second half of the Frontier Conference season at home for Homecoming Weekend, Saturday, Oct. 12 against Montana State Northern at 6 p.m.

NOTES

• The Mountaineers enter the weekend with a 1-4 overall record and 1-3 in the Frontier. EOU is coming off a bye-week having lost three in a row, most recently at No. 19 Montana Western 49-13. In that game, EOU led the turnover battle with an interception and three forced fumbles, but were forced to punt 11 times.
 
• Saturday marks the 23rd meeting between EOU and Montana State-Northern. The Mountaineers hold a 16-6 record against the Lights, which includes a five-game winning streak and 13 of the last 14.
 
• EOU holds an all-time record of 286-471-14 (.379). 2019 marks the 74th-consecutive season in program history. EOU did not compete between 1942-45 due to World War II.
 
• The Mountaineers easily defeated the Lights 58-24, scoring 44 points between the second and third quarters. EOU amassed 626 total yards, led by 318 passing yards from quarterback Kai Quinn and 128 rushing yards by running back Victor Dias.
 
• The Blue and Gold is 32-25 at Community Stadium all-time under Camp. EOU went 3-2 in La Grande in 2018, including an epic 54-51 triple overtime win over No. 22 Montana Western. EOU fell at home in its lone game in 2019 35-10 against Montana Tech.
 
• The Mountaineers made their first trip to the NAIA Championships in 2016, reaching the semifinals.
 
• The Lights have struggled to start the year, falling in four-straight Frontier Conference games. MSUN last fell at home on Sep. 28 to Montana Tech 42-0, amassing just 124 total yards.

5: The Mounties returned five all-conference selections from 2018 including 1st Team Sage Delong.
 
30: EOU has a 30-3 record under Camp when allowing 20 or less points.
