No. 14 EOU Runs Away with 13th-Straight Win, 88-62 Over Northwest

LA GRANDE, Ore. – Maya Ah You Dias' first-half double-double paved the way for another dominant victory as the No. 14 Eastern Oregon women's basketball team cruised to its 13th-straight win, 88-62 over Northwest in Cascade Collegiate Conference play, Saturday night at Quinn Coliseum.

Ah You Dias had 18 points and 10 rebounds at halftime, finishing the game with 31 points and 14 boards in another brilliant game for the senior. In just six games this season, Ah You Dias has posted five double-doubles, averaging 20.5 points and 11.3 rebounds per contest.

After a close first quarter in which the Mountaineers (13-2, 7-0 CCC) didn't get their first lead until 2:35 left, EOU came out flying in the second quarter with a 25-12 advantage over the Eagles (5-14, 2-7 CCC). From there it was all Mountaineers, as they did not let the lead fall under 15 points.

Senior Maren Herrud came off the bench, scoring 16 points in 18 minutes. Junior Whitney Meier had nine points while juniors Jane Nelson and Kylie Smith each had six points. Nelson added five boards while freshman Beverly Slater had 10 rebounds. Freshman Shelby Starr contributed with five points and two rebounds.

Overall, EOU had another consistent shooting night, making almost 46 percent of their shots and 37.5 from beyond the arc.  The Mounties were dominant inside with a 53-34 advantage in rebounding.

The win advanced EOU's CCC regular season winning streak to 37 games and their home winning streak to 36 games in a row.

For the Eagles, Miranda Langenhorst led the team with 20 points and six rebounds. Sam Van Loo added 10 points and eight rebounds.
