LA GRANDE, Ore. - The No. 6 Eastern Oregon women's basketball team defeated Evergreen State College 91-59 on Tuesday night to move on to the Cascade Collegiate Conference Semifinals with their 22nd-straight victory. In the win, senior guard Payton Parrish became the new EOU record-holder with the most made three-pointers in a season at 102.

"On a night when our outside shooting wasn't what it usually is, our girls found other ways to score," said head coach Anji Weissenfluh. "Stormee had a big night on the block for us both offensively and defensively. Payton had another record setting night and I couldn't be happier fo her. But she did more than just score tonight, she was also instrumental when it came rebounding. Our crowd was great tonight - it's fun when they get into it. I hope they enjoy their Big Macs."

The Mounties had two players with double-doubles including Parrish and senior forward Stormee Van Belle. Parrish ended the game with 26 points and 11 rebounds while making five three pointers. Van Belle ended the game with 21 points and a game-high 13 rebounds on 9-of-15 shooting.

The game started surprisingly close, as the Geoducks came out the locker room shooting hot, ending the first quarter tied at 24. The first half ended with 51-42 Mounties lead as the Geoducks finished on a run of nine-straight points.

The Blue and Gold were more aggressive in the second half, allowing their opponent to score just 17 points in the half with only five in the fourth quarter. The Mounties used a run of nine points in the third quarter and another run of 13 points to pulled ahead late and run away with a 91-59 victory.

The Mountaineers will be home again on Friday, facing Oregon Tech in the conference semifinals. The game will begin at 7:00 p.m. in Quinn Coliseum.
