Box Score PORTLAND, Ore. – The Eastern Oregon women's basketball team (25-2, 17,0 CCC) won its 19th game in a row, defeating Multnomah (1-27, 1-17 CCC) 87-44 behind a 25-point performance from Payton Parrish in Cascade Collegiate Conference on Saturday.
The win gives the Mountaineers a two-game lead over Southern Oregon, clinching at least a share of the conference title with just two CCC games remaining. EOU can clinch the championship outright with one more victory.
The Mountaineers started a bit slow against Multnomah, scoring just 13 points in the first five minutes of the game, but once the shots started falling, the lead started growing. The Blue and Gold ended the first half with a 23-point lead.
The second half was no different. The Mounties started the half quickly, increasing the lead up to 46 in the fourth quarter. Senior guard Payton Parrish followed her record night with another great scoring performance, as she ended the night with 25 points on a 6-for-12 shooting from behind the arc.
Senior guard Maya Ah You-Dias ended the game with a double-double (16 points and 12 rebounds). Junior guard Maren Herrud had 13 points while senior forward Stormee Van Belle reached double-digit points with 10 and six assists.
The Mountaineers are coming home next. They will be facing Oregon Tech on Feb. 16 and Southern Oregon on Feb. 17 at 5:30 p.m. at Quinn Coliseum. Saturday's game will be senior night, honoring the program's five seniors.
