Box Score PORTLAND, Ore - The Eastern Oregon men's basketball team fell on Saturday night, losing to Multnomah 86-74 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play.
The Blue and Gold (20-6, 4-14) struggled offensively, shooting 32% on the field, 24% from behind the arc. Junior forward Peter Eke was effective on the boards, grabbing a season-high 16 rebounds.
The Mounties never seemed in control, as the Multnomah Lions (7-20, 12-6 CCC) managed to dictate the game starting in the first half, making tough shots and leading the Mountaineers to missed shots. The Mountaineers ended the first half with a four-point deficit.
The second half was no different, even though the Mounties showed signs of life at times, they were never able to keep up with the Lions. Multnomah increased its lead to 17 at one point and ended up winning 86-74.
The Mounties are coming home next, as they face Oregon Tech on Feb. 16 and Southern Oregon on Feb. 17 at 7:30 p.m. at Quinn Coliseum. Saturday's game will be Senior Night as the Mountaineers will honor their five seniors.
