Big 3rd Quarter Leads No. 7 EOU Past Paul Quinn 78-66

DALLAS, Texas. – The No. 7 Eastern Oregon women's basketball team earned its second-straight win, defeating Paul Quinn College on the road 78-66 on Friday evening.
 
A 22-7 advantage in the third quarter led the Mountaineers (3-2) to victory on Friday after trailing 31-29 at halftime. Head coach Anji Weissenfluh made some halftime adjustments, as EOU was able to roll to the 78-66 victory.
 
After shooting about 40 percent in the first half, the Mountaineer offense improved to 50 percent, making five 3-pointers and 16-of-20 free throws. The team finished with a 20-11 advantage in made free throws on the evening.
 
Junior Madison Crews had a strong game offensively, leading EOU with 23 points and five of their eight made three pointers. Crews made 60 percent of her shots from the field.
 
Also helping on the scoresheet was junior Andi Warn, who came off the bench to provide 13 points in 29 minutes. Warn also shot 6-for-10 from the floor. Junior Julia Hanni added 12 points and a team-high four assists. Senior Khadija Neumeyer paced EOU with eight rebounds, also tallying six points, four steals and three assists.
 
The game featured only one lead change and two tied scores as the game was a tale of two halves. The Tigers held the lead for most of the first half, while the Mountaineers dominated the final 20 minutes of the game.
 
Eastern Oregon completes its Texas road trip on Saturday, playing the second of a back-to-back series with Paul Quinn College. Tip off is scheduled for 2 p.m. Central time from Dallas.
