Boyer’s Hat-Trick Helps EOU Roar Past Multnomah 8-0

PORTLAND, Ore.- With only four games left of regular season conference games, the Eastern Oregon women's soccer team has not slowed down. Six different Mounties help lead the Mountaineers to an 8-0 victory over Multnomah University on Friday afternoon in Cascade Collegiate Conference play.

It did not take long for the Mountaineers (10-1-2, 6-1-2 CCC) to strike, and it came through captain Taylor Boyer, assisted by midfielder Cailin Koupal. EOU had all the momentum in the opening minutes and the second goal came from defender Sarah Mitchell off a backside run. Boyer got her brace with a minute left in the first half.

The second half was a flurry of goals from the Blue and Gold, with a goal almost every nine minutes. Boyer completed her hat-trick in the second half, continuing to lead the team in scoring with 10 goals.

Mackinley Gregus slotted her eighth of the year when she dribbled past defenders before putting it in the net.

Four Mounties scored their first goals of the season on Friday, including sophomore's Mitchell and Koupal and seniors Alexandria Cuaresma and Charli Torres.

The Lions (0-10, 0-8 CCC) could not stop the Mountaineer attack as they dominated the field. EOU outshot their opponent 33-1.

The Mountaineers are back in action on Sunday against Warner Pacific at 11 a.m. in Portland.
