No. 19 EOU Women’s Basketball Too Much for Multnomah in 32-Point Win

PORTLAND, Ore. – The 19th-ranked EOU women's hoops team took care of business on Friday night, dropping Multnomah by a 77-45 margin to collect its 20th win of the 2016-17 campaign.

Excluding the first quarter, EOU (20-4, 13-2 CCC) simply dominated, outscoring Multnomah by 27 (58-31) the rest of the way.

Junior guard Maya Ah You (Dias) led four Mountaineers in double figures with 19 points and seven rebounds, while senior forward Ashley Knight and junior post Stormee Van Belle added 12 points apiece. Accounting for three of EOU's 10 three-pointers, junior guard Payton Parrish added 11 points.

The first period of the game was tight, as neither squad managed to build a lead greater than five points. After EOU fell down by four (6-2), Dias netted a three to spark a 17-8 run to close the frame, capped by a triple from senior guard Donniesha Webber.

Up four (25-21) in the second frame, EOU mustered a 15-5 flurry to end the first half, holding the Lions to an 18 percent (2-for-11) clip during that stretch.

In the third stanza, the Blue and Gold outscored Multnomah, 14-8, to increase its advantage to 20 (54-34), notching points from five different Mountaineers.

Multnomah (6-17, 4-11 CCC) never got closer than 18 in the fourth quarter, and EOU eventually pushed the margin to 32 (77-45) after freshman guard Andi Warn tossed in a jumper. EOU went 4-for-9 from deep in the final 10 minutes, two of which came from Parrish.
