No. 17 EOU Women’s Hoops Coasts to 76-56 Win Over Corban

SALEM, Ore. – The 17th-ranked EOU women's basketball team never trailed during the game and with four players scoring in double-figures, easily took care of business against Corban in a 20-point victory Sunday afternoon.

Offensively for the Mountaineers (17-4, 10-2 CCC) junior guard Maya Ah You-(Dias) led the way with 16 points and six boards. Senior guard Donniesha Webber tallied 10 points, five boards and a game-high two blocks. Junior guard Reece Bauer tacked on 10 points with five boards, while junior forward Stormee Van Belle chipped in 12 points along with seven rebounds.

Corban (12-8, 6-6 CCC) was led by Maci Benedict who scored 11 points with three assists.

The Blue and Gold jumped out to an 8-0 run to start the first quarter highlighted by six points from Ah You-Dias. The Warriors answered with a 6-0 spurt of their own, but it was not enough to hold back Van Belle, as the forward netted six points down a four- minute stretch to give EOU a 20-13 lead after one stanza.

Senior guard Ashley Knight's layup to start the second period ignited a 15-7 run for the Mounties, during that stretch, senior forward Mariah Swanson hit two treys, netting eight points in the period alone. EOU outscored Corban in the frame 21-10, to head into the locker room with an 18-point advantage (41-23).

The third stanza saw EOU build its largest lead of the game (49-26) courtesy of a Bauer bucket at the 5:27 mark. This would be the only frame in which the Warriors outscored the Mountaineers (14-11) but it was never really a threat, as EOU would cruise on for its 10th conference victory this season.
