Tuesdays With Tim Camp: Week Three (College of Idaho)

FULL GAME NOTES vs. College of Idaho (Sept. 17)
 
LA GRANDE, Ore. – Now with a target on its back as the highest-rated squad in the Frontier Conference, the No. 10 EOU football team will look to take care of business when it hosts I-84 rival College of Idaho on Saturday at 6 p.m.
 
Ninth-year head football coach Tim Camp caught up with the Sports Information Office to comment on the matchup, as seen in the video above.
 
THE MATCHUP
EOU is back in La Grande for game three of the 2016 season on Saturday, September 17, as the Blue and Gold hosts the Yotes at 6 p.m.

SERIES HISTORY
Saturday marks the 39th meeting between EOU and College of Idaho. The Yotes own a 26-11-1 edge in the series. However, the Mountaineers have won three of the last four by an average of 25 points.
 
CAMP VS. THE YOTES
Camp is 3-1 (.750) all-time vs. College of Idaho. In 2015, the Mountaineers split the two-game series. After dropping the season opener in Caldwell (40-28), EOU mustered a 21-10 at Community Stadium later in the season.
 
SIX IN THE TOP 25
The Frontier Conference boasted a league-record six teams in the latest NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll. EOU directed the fleet at No. 10, followed by No. 12 Southern Oregon, No. 13 Montana Tech, No. 21 Carroll, No. 22 Montana Western, and No. 25 Montana Western.
 
EOU'S LAST TIME OUT
Camp celebrated his school-record 49th career victory on Saturday with a 35-23 triumph over Montana Western. The Mountaineers locked down defensively in the second half, holding the Bulldogs to only three points en route to leaving Dillon, Mont., with a 12-point win.
 
Senior quarterback Zach Bartlow completed 15 passes for 335 yards and four touchdowns, while junior wide receiver Calvin Connors caught four passes for 143 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Sophomore kicker Nathan Harden was a perfect 5-for-5 for PATs, and senior linebacker Tucker Stanley and junior defensive back Justin Hughes both compiled 11 tackles apiece. Camp surpassed Bob Quinn who went 48-65-5 from 1929-49.
 
COLLEGE OF IDAHO'S LAST TIME OUT
College of Idaho collected its third win over NCAA Division III institution Willamette in 17 tries on Saturday, as the Yotes cruised to a 42-12 victory at McCulloch Stadium in Salem, Ore. The 30-point margin was the largest win for College of Idaho against the Bearcats in the 46-game series history dating back to the mid-1920s.
 
Tyler Cox completed 15 passes for 216 yards and two touchdowns, as well as 55 rushing yards for two touchdowns on the ground. Mike Kirby rushed for a team-high 70 yards, while Shayne Robinson caught seven passes for 97 yards and a touchdown. Defensively, Nikolas Lyons paced the Yotes with seven tackles and one pass breakup, and College of Idaho picked off four passes in the dominant effort.
 
On the season, the Yotes average 27.5 points per game, and they also rank seventh in the NAIA in yards per kickoff return (27.5). College of Idaho has outscored its opponents in the first quarter, 24-0. Dating back to 2014, the Yotes are only 3-9 on the road.
