LA GRANDE, Ore – After compiling six-straight shutout matches, the EOU women's soccer team gave up a goal late in the first stanza in what would be a one-nil loss to in-state rival Southern Oregon on Saturday afternoon.
Despite outshooting Southern Oregon (7-3-1, 4-0-0 CCC) by three (11-8), EOU (7-3-2, 4-1-1 CCC) couldn't find the back of the net and lost its first conference and home match of the 2016 campaign.

Mariana Madrigal led the way offensively for the Mountaineers, shooting two shots, both of which were on goal. Not far behind were sophomore forward

Makensie Forsyth, who combined for a quartet of shots and two attempts on frame.
On the other side of the ball, senior goalie
Jessica Parker scooped up three saves, despite giving up a goal in the 43rd minute to Southern Oregon's Facienne Graham.
