HERMISTON, Ore. – The Eastern Oregon University men's soccer team fired 25 shots and tallied three goals in each half, and the Mountaineers logged their first victory in the record books in style, blanking Multnomah on Tuesday night, 6-0.

The Storyline
EOU established an aggressive tone early, taking three shots in the opening six and a half minutes.
The 10th shot of the night happened to send the Mountaineer bench into elation, as junior defender Robert Wilson tapped one in from freshman midfielder Aldo Rivas for the first goal of the match.
Just a little over a minute later, junior midfielder Jovan Rojas scored his first of two goals to give EOU a 2-0 lead, and then freshman forward Rene Gutierrez followed with a goal of his own just 37 seconds later to cap the Mountaineers' three-goal opening stanza.
In the second half, freshman midfielder Jesus Trejo got into the action in the 64th minute after scoring from 10 yards away near the center of the pitch.
Rojas logged his second goal in the 71st minute, and then Rivas collected a deflected ball and fired it home for EOU's sixth and final goal of the match in the 90th minute.
Junior goalkeeper Jordan Hilmick earned the shutout, as he registered two saves in his first victory in a navy and gold uniform.
After the game, Hillmick talked about the shutout and how the team can use the win to move forward this season.
