Stan Rodrigues joined EOU as the head men's soccer coach in 2015. Prior to becoming a Mountaineer, Rodrigues logged overĀ 18 years of coaching experience from the high school level to college and club level.
The inaugural EOU men's soccer season kicked off in 2015, and the Mountaineers made a name for themselves early. After upending the 2014 CCC regular-season champion Northwest (2-1) on Sept. 19, EOU recorded undoubtedly the biggest upset of the 2015 conference campaign with a 2-0 triumph over then-ranked No. 9 Corban. Rodrigues produced two honorable mention all-conference selections in goalkeeper Alfredo Lara and striker Fredy Rodriguez, while both Zane Smith and Christopher Gianandrea garnered academic all-conference honors.Ā

For 12 years, Rodrigues served both as a coach and the Director of Coaching for the Westside Timbers. Under his tenure, Rodriges' club produced players such as Rubio Rubin USMNT, Chad Barrett Seattle Sounder, Danny Mwanga Orlando FC, and Erik Hurtado Vancouver FC. At one point, his club was ranked the 27th best boys club in the nation.
Rodrigues coached a variety of levels for the Westside Timbers. In 2011, Rodrigues coached the U17G Fury team, which went on to win the inaugural Oregon Premier League State Cup and was ranked as high as 32nd in the nation in 2011.

Prior to joining the U17G Fury, Rodrigues coached the U15B Swat. In 2009, his team was named the President's Cup Wild Card Team. One year later Rodrigues coached the U15B Swat to the state quarterfinals.

Rodrigues coached the U16B team to a second-place finish in the Premier Division and remained with the team as it moved up to the U17 division, where it was an Oregon State finalist and a regional finalist in the US Club Tournament.

Rodrigues spent two different terms (2008-10, 2012-13) as head coach and general manager of the Portland Rain/Westside Timbers of the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL). During the 2009 season, Rodrigues was named the WPSL's Pacific Conference Coach of the Year.

From 2010-12, Rodrigues coached at Clark Community College, where he notched a quarterfinal appearance in the NWAACC Tournament. Ā

In addition to coaching soccer, Rodrigues served as an English Language Learners (ELL) assistant teacher at Tigard High School in both 2008 and 2009. Prior to becoming an assistant teacher, Rodrigues spent three years as an ESL Assistant Migrant Recruiter for the Hillsboro Schools. Rodrigues was also a Physical Education teacher for the Newberg Summer Schools from 2002-2004.

Rodrigues has a variety of coaching licenses, as he earned his United States Soccer Federations "C" License. He also has his NSCAA Goal Keepers License I/II, USSF Adult Coaching License, NSCAA Director of Coaching Diploma and the Dutch Coever Coaching Diploma.

During his playing career, Rodrigues took the pitch at Central Oregon Community College, Liga Nacional, and Larchmont New York. In 1996, he tried out for the San Jose Clash of the MLS.

Rodrigues graduated from Warner Pacific College with a bachelor's degree in human development. He then earned his Master of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Physical Education from Fresno Pacific University.Ā
A resident of La Grande, Rodrigues lives with his wife, Angela, and has three sons (Zion, Darian, and Vince).Ā
