Week Two - No. 13 Eastern Oregon vs. Sacramento State (Sept. 5)
LA GRANDE, Ore. – After being upset by College of Idaho in front of a sellout crowd in Caldwell, the No. 13 Eastern Oregon University football team will look for a little redemption – this time against an NCAA Division I opponent.
Last Time Out
In their Frontier Conference and season opener, the Mountaineers never recovered from a 14-point, second-quarter deficit en route to falling to College of Idaho, 40-28.
Junior quarterback Zach Bartlow completed 15 of 26 passes for 146 yards, including a 97-yard touchdown run in the second quarter.
Meanwhile, senior wide receiver Jace Billingsley caught two touchdowns and finished with six catches for 25 yards. He also amassed 238 all-purpose yards in the losing effort.
Scouting the Hornets
Sacramento State finished the 2014 campaign with a 7-5 record, and the Hornets enter the year riding a three-game winning streak.
Despite losing All-American wide receiver DeAndre Carter and all-Big Sky quarterback Garret Safron, the Hornets return three all-conference honorees in senior wide receiver Nnamdi Agude, senior linebacker Darnell Sankey, and senior kicker Brad Cornish.
Sacramento State is 25-35-1 all-time in season openers.
