Forsyth, Parker Spark Mountaineer Women’s Soccer Past OIT, 1-0

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Sophomore midfielder Makensie Forsyth scored the game-winner in the 28th minute, and the Eastern Oregon University women's soccer team returned to its winning ways with a 1-0 victory over Oregon Tech on Friday night.

"Makensie Forsyth came up with another big goal for us from the midfield, and our defense hung tough in the second half battling against a strong wind to preserve the victory," said head women's soccer coach Justin Wagar.

With the seventh shutout of the 2015 campaign, the Mountaineers have already tied the school record for shutouts in a season.

Key Performances
Forsyth finished the night with four shots and registered her fourth goal of the season in the first stanza.

In goal, junior keeper Jessica Parker tallied her fourth shutout of the season, and she accumulated four saves in the process.

The Storyline
EOU outshot OIT 6-1 in the opening 27 minutes before Forsyth's goal in the 28th gave the Mountaineers a 1-0 lead. It was the Prosser, Wash., native's second-career game-winner, as she collected a loose ball and fired it through the net from 30 yards out.

All of Parker's saves came in the second half, including a trio of denials in the final seven minutes of play. The Owls (4-5-1, 2-3 CCC) nearly notched the equalizer in the 84th minute, as the Owls fired three shots in a span of 78 seconds, but the Mountaineers managed to keep them at bay and hold on for the victory.
