Click Here Adidas Team of the WeekThe Eastern Oregon University volleyball team was named the Cascade Collegiate Conference Adidas Team of the Week for their performance at the Sport Travel Northwest Challenge. The Mountaineers were a perfect 5-0 at the challenge.
Red Lion Player of the WeekSenior
Casey Loper was named the Red Lion Volleyball Offensive player of the week the Cascade Conference announced on Monday. Loper is the first person to win the award this season. Loper led the Mountaineers to a 5-0 record at the Sport Travel Northwest Challenge. Loper led the Mountaineers in kills with 88 for the week. She recorded 44 kills on day three.
CUI Labor Day TournamentThe Eastern Oregon University travel to Irvine, Calif. this weekend to participate in the Concordia (Calif.) Labor Day Tournament. The No. 23 Mountaineers will face one ranked opponent this trip to Calif. EOU opens up action against No. 8 Biola. Biola will be the first ranked team the Mountaineers will face this season. EOU also plays against Carroll, Westmont and Montana Tech. Westmont is receiving votes in the Tachikara-NAIA Preseason Coaches' Top 25 Poll.
Last WeekendThe last weekend the Mountaineers went 5-0 as they participated in the Sport Travel Northwest Challenge. EOU dropped a total of three sets in its five games in Spokane, Wash. Senior,
Casey Loper led the Mountaineers as she recorded 88 kills in the five games. On the third day of the challenge, EOU defeated Lewis-Clark State, 3-1 (17-25, 25-16, 25-19, 25-15). The Warriors were receiving votes in the Preseason Coaches' Top 25.
Coaches' Top 25EOU is currently ranked No. 23 in the Tachikara-NAIA Volleyball Coaches' Top 25 Poll. The first regular season Tachikara-NAIA Volleyball Coaches' Top 25 Poll comes out is Sept. 9th.
Home OpenerEOU opens its home schedule on September 3rd when Walla Walla University travels to La Grande to take on the Mountaineers.
