Red Lion Player of the Week
Senior
Kyllian Wood was been named Cascade Collegiate Conference Red Lion Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the CCC office announced. Wood was picked from his performances from Feb. 17-23. Wood scored a game high 41 points on 13-of-15 shooting and collected 15 rebounds to lead Eastern Oregon University men's basketball past The Evergreen State College Geoducks, 79-69, on Senior night at Quinn Coliseum. The 41 points he scored as a career high. For the weekend, Wood shot 76.9 percent from the floor (20-of-26). His double-double on Saturday night was his eighth of the season.
CCC Tournament
The Mountaineers of Eastern Oregon have claimed a spot in the CCC Tournament presented by U.S. Bank. EOU opens up play on Wednesday, Feb. 26, when they travel to Caldwell, Idaho to face Top seed College of Idaho at 7 p.m.
Scouting The Yotes
The Yotes of College of Idaho enter the CCC Tournament presented by U.S. Bank as the top seed and riding a 12 game winning streak. The last loss for College of Idaho came on Jan. 4 when they lost 95-89 to Concordia. The Yotes are a perfect 14-0 when playing at the J.A. Albertson Activities Center. On the season, College of Idaho averaged 87.2 points per game, the second most in the conference. The Yotes also lead the nation in total blocks (149) and blocks per game (4.9). Taylor Pruett leads the Yotes as he scores 15 points per game.
Last Weekend
The Mountaineers split last weekend's regular season series as they lost to Northwest before bouncing back and defeating Evergreen. On Friday night against Northwest,
Trevor Phillips jumper fell short as the clock expired and the Eastern Oregon University Mountaineers were defeated by Northwest University, 59-58, on Friday night at Quinn Coliseum. Fifteen second later EOU took the lead again after Phillips hit a jumper in the lane to put EOU ahead by one point, 58-57. However, that would be the last bucket for EOU and Russo hit a jumper with 46 seconds left to take an 59-58 lead. EOU had one last chance to take the lead but Phillips' shot fell short and Northwest came away with a 59-58 victory.

Previous Meetings with C of I
College of Idaho and EOU has met twice previously this season and the Yotes of College of Idaho came away with two wins over the Mountaineers. On Jan. 10, the No. 23 Yotes came to Quinn Coliseum and defeated EOU, 75-67. A month later, EOU fell to No. 8 College of Idaho, 67-54, at the J.A. Albertson Center.
