Brittney Newcomb scored a game high 24 points and
Nicole Redd scored 20 points to led the Eastern Oregon University women's basketball team to its 20th win of the season with a 78-66 victory over Northwest Christian University on Saturday night.
The win for Eastern Oregon gives EOU its 20th win of the season, and its 10th, 20 win season in 14 years under Head Coach

Madeline Laan with 16 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the field.
The Mountaineers and Beacons were locked in a back and forth battle to start the game and with 14:24 left in the first half the Beacons led the Mountaineers, 12-11. Eastern Oregon answered by going on a 10-0 run, that saw
Payton Parrish hit two three pointers allowing EOU to lead 22-12.
Eastern Oregon extended its lead to as many as 13 points, 30-17, with 8:15 left in the first half. The Mountaineers offense started to cool off as they scored five points for the rest of the first and the Beacons started to chip away at the lead.
Northwest Christian cut the Mountaineers lead down to nine points, three different times before halftime but could not get any closer. A jumper by Tami Brown put the Beacons down nine points, 34-25, to go into halftime.
Eastern Oregon looked as if they would start to pull away early in the second half. After a three pointer by Newcomb to start the second half that put EOU ahead by 12 points, 37-25, the Beacons started to come back. Northwest Christian again slowly started to chip away at the Mountaineers lead and with 16:36 left, EOU found its lead cut down to seven points, 45-38.
The Mountaineers lead continued to shrink as the Beacons continued to battle back. After a layup by Melyssa Weber, the Beacons had cut the Mountaineers lead down to two points, 47-45, with 13:08 left in the second half.
Eastern Oregon answered right back and went on an 11-0 run to take a 13 point lead, 58-45. Newcomb led the Mountaineer's during the run scoring seven of the 11 points. After the run, Northwest Christian cut the lead down to single digits twice.
The Mountaineers continued to extend its lead and after a pair of free throws by Redd, EOU was ahead by 14 points, 62-48, with 7:06 left in the second half. EOU continued to hold a double figure lead until there was 1:18 left in the game. After a jumper by Allie Kelsey the Beacons found themselves down eight points, 71-63.
Northwest Christian did not get any closer than eight points for the remainder of the game and the Mountaineers knocked down their free throws in the final minute of the contest to come away with a 12 point victory, 78-66, over the Beacons.
The Mountaineers return to action next Friday, Feb. 21 when Northwest University travels to Quinn Coliseum to kick off Senior Weekend. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
