This Weekend
Friday night's volleyball game is Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day. The first 25 Faculty or Staff in attendance will receive a free tee shirt. Saturday, is Dig Pink and all breast cancer survivors will receive free admission into the game.
 
No. 10
For the second straight season , the Eastern Oregon University volleyball team has climbed into the top 10 of the Tachikara-NAIA Volleyball Coaches' Top 25 Poll. In the fifth regular season edition of the Poll, EOU came in at No. 10. The Mountaineers are four points behind ninth place Lindsey Wilson (Ky.).
 
Last Weekend
Last weekend, the Mountaineers swept Concordia and Warner Pacific. In the NAIA Volleyball Match of the Week, the then-No. 12 Eastern Oregon University volleyball team swept the Concordia Cavaliers, 25-22, 25-15, 26-24, on Friday night at Quinn Coliseum. Casey Loper and Amanda Miller led the Mountaineers with 10 kills apiece. Rachelle Chamberlain dished out a match-high, 38 assists. Jessalyn Smith recorded 21 digs on the night. The Mountaineers carried the momentum over to Saturday with a sweep of Warner Pacific (Ore.), 25-10, 25-15, 25-12. Loper led the Mountaineers with 15 kills and Chamberlain dished out 35 assists.

On Saturday against Warner Pacific, Casey Loper, became the second player in program history to reach the 1,000th kill plateau. Grace Deboodt holds the school record of 1,261. Loper is second in the CCC in hitting percentage as she is hitting .349 on the season. She has 299 kills and has recorded 700 total attacks. She leads the CCC in kills per set, as she is averaging 4.2.
 
Last Time Against
Northwest

On Sept. 13, the Mountaineers traveled to Kirkland, Wash. and swept the Eagles, 25-15, 25-12, 25-21. The Mountaineers were led by Loper's 11 kills in the match.
Evergreen
Casey Loper led the Mountaineers to a sweep of Evergreen, 25-19, 25-14, 25-17. Loper recorded 12 kills in the match. Emily Nay followed with nine kills.
 
Leading the CCC
Entering this weekend the Mountaineers lead the Cascade Collegiate Conference in a few statistical categories. EOU has the best hitting percentage (.242), assists per set (12.9), kills per set (13.9) and digs per set (17.0).

Highest Ranking
Currently the Mountaineers sit at No. 10 in the Tachikara-NAIA Volleyball Coaches' Top 25 Poll, which is the second highest the Mountaineers have been in the poll. Last season, Eastern Oregon climbed to No. 9 in the Top 25 to earn the highest ranking in program history.
 
What's Up Next
The Mountaineers return to Quinn Coliseum next Friday, Oct. 17 when they take on College of Idaho at 7 p.m.
