Women's Soccer Weekly Notes: Northwest Christian and Corban

This Week
Eastern Oregon University women's soccer closes out the 2014 regular season this Thursday and Saturday as they travel to Northwest Christian and Corban.
 
CCC Tournament
With only two conference games remaining, the Mountaineers find themselves in eighth place in the conference with three points. EOU will need to get to sixth place to advance to the CCC Tournament, which starts on Nov. 5th. The Mountaineers find themselves four points out of sixth place. Northwest and Concordia both have clinched a spot in the CCC Tournament.
 
Looking at the Opponents
Northwest Christian

The Beacons enter this weekend with an 6-10 overall record and 1-6 in CCC action. Northwest Christian dropped its last contest to Corban on Oct. 18. The Beacons lost 2-0. On Oct. 14, Northwest Christian defeated Simpson, 5-1. Their lone conference win of the season came on Oct. 4 when they defeated Oregon Tech.
Corban
The Warriors of Corban University enter this weekend with a record of 8-6-2 overall and 3-3-1 in conference play. They currently sit in the fifth spot of the CCC standings. The Warriors won their last game on Oct. 18th with a 2-0 victory over Northwest Christian. Corban holds a 3-0-1 record at Warrior Field this season.
 
Last Weekend
Last weekend, the Mountaineers closed out their 2014 regular season home schedule. EOU went 1-1 with a win a 1-0 win on Thursday against The Evergreen State College. Sydney Nelson scored in the 33rd minute was enough to lift EOU to the victory. EOU fell to Northwest, 3-1, on Saturday. Maddi Cillay scored the Mountaineers only goal for game.
 
Last Season
Last season the Mountaineers went 1-1 against Northwest Christian and Corban. Eastern Oregon defeated Northwest Christian, 4-2, on Thursday. The Mountaineers closed out the week with a 2-1 loss to Corban.
