Click Here NAIA Match of the WeekFriday's night match between Eastern Oregon and Concordia has been named the NAIA Volleyball Match of the Week. This is the second straight season that EOU and Concordia have locked up in the NAIA Match of the Week. Last season, EOU was victories over Concordia, 3-2 (25-23, 19-25, 28-26, 20-25, 16-14).
Wear Blue Get LoudMountaineer Fans, when coming to Quinn Coliseum this weekend, remember to wear blue and get loud. Lets blue out Quinn Coliseum as the Mountaineers take on Concordia and Warner Pacific.
Last Season VersusLast season the Mountaineer faced Concordia three teams and was 2-1 verses the Cavaliers. EOU won the two regular season match ups before Concordia came back and knocked EOU out of the CCC Semifinals. The Mountaineers were a perfect 2-0 last season against the Knights of Warner Pacific.
Loper Leading the WayEastern Oregon's offensive attack is led by senior,
Casey Loper. Loper leads the Mountaineers in kills on the season with 274, which is seventh best in the nation. She has led or shared for the team lead in kills during every match but one this season.
Top of the CCCThe Mountaineers rank among the top of the CCC in several offensive categories this season. EOU ranks first in hitting percentage (.232), assists per set (12.77), and kills per set (13.80). Not only do those numbers lead the CCC, they are in the top 20 of the NAIA.
Conference HighsCasey Loper and
Jessalyn Smith have set conference highs for this season. Loper recorded a conference high 29 points against Montana Western on Aug. 23rd. She recorded 22 kills, eight block assists and three aces. Smith has recorded a season best 40 digs against College of Idaho to mark the most digs for anyone in the CCC this season.
Set Streak SnappedLast weekend the Mountaineers had its consecutive set streak snapped when they dropped the second set to the Raiders of Southern Oregon. Prior to dropping the second set, the Mountaineers had won 14 straight sets.
What's on TapThe Mountaineers return to action next Friday, Oct. 10 when they host Northwest (Wash.) at 7 p.m. at Quinn Coliseum. On Saturday, Oct. 11th, the Mountaineer face The Evergreen State College.
