Mountaineers Down New Hope Christian, 85-74

EUGENE, Ore. - Eastern Oregon University Men's Basketball collected their first win of the season on the road at New Hope Christian, 85-74.

The Mountaineers led the first half by shooting 48 percent from the field and 100 percent from the line. The Deacons trailed at the end of the first half, 48-33, shooting 37 percent from the field and 57 percent from the line.

The Deacons came out in the second half ready to play, out- shooting the Mountaineers, 35 percent to 31 percent, from the field. The Deacons scored 41 points, to our 36, but EOU was able to hold the Deacons off and pull out the win.

Stuart Bartoldus dominated the hoop with 25 points, six rebounds and one assist for the night. Bryan McGriff added to the night with a double-double, 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Kalvin Johanson scored 10 points and had four blocked shots for the Mountaineers.

For the Deacons, Calvin Molan led the team with 23 points, three rebounds, and one assist, while Corey Grant added 14 points.

Eastern Oregon takes on New Hope Christian again tomorrow in Eugene, Ore. at 3 p.m.
